A brewery in eastern Germany has published the country’s first guide on beer drinking etiquette. “We don’t want to come across as moralizers, but we’re concerned about preserving a culture of beer drinking,” Steffen Dittmar, the chief executive officer of “Bergquell Brauerei Löbau” in Saxony, told the Associated Press. The brewery’s guide gives tips on impeccable beer drinking behavior and suggests to keep a low profile while drinking in public. The original version of the “Bierknigge,” as the guide is called in reference to a well-known German book on etiquette, comes as a 2004 calendar, but next year Dittmar wants to publish it as a book as well, he said.
