Humanitarian organizations like the Red Cross, or ICRC, already deliver aid, medical assistance and some protection to civilians caught in war zones found in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The organization reports the world's biggest displacement crisis is in Sudan after fighting between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces.

While the ICRC's primary goal is to assist civilians and ensure that the contraventions of the 1949 Geneva Conventions and similar treaties are documented, can their efforts and neutrality be a path to ending fighting?
