EU imposes sanctions on senior Belarusian officials

EU foreign ministers meeting in Berlin have agreed to impose sanctions on senior Belarusian officials accused of election fraud and cracking down on protesters. They also urged Russia not to intervene, after Russian President Vladimir Putin promised military support for the country's leader Alexander Lukashenko.
