The role of the media in times of upheaval is the focus of Deutsche Welle's Media Dialgoue 2012. DW Akademie, the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhine-Sieg and the Cologne University of Applied Sciences cordially invite you to attend and participate in this interdisciplinary exchange, May 16, 2012 in Bonn.
International academics and experts will present the results of their current research. Panelists include Dr. Ronald Meinardus (Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty in Cairo, Egypt) and Dr. Asiem El Difraoui (German Institute for International and Security Affairs, Berlin) speaking on the transformation of media landscapes; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Ayish, Media Researcher and Commentator, (Oryx Media Services, Ottawa / Canada) and Omair Anas, PhD., (University of New Delhi, India) analyzing the role of social media; and Professor Marguerite Moritz (UNESCO Chair, University of Colorado, Boulder, USA) and Moisés Garduño García, PhD Candidate (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain) discussing the possible impact of the Arab spring.
