Iran Sanctions - African Trading Hub
In a hard-hitting speech, the US vice president has singled out Germany, France and the UK for circumventing sanctions. He called it "an ill-advised step," urging the EU to reverse policy and withdraw from the Iran deal.
The European Union has struck out at Iran over its missile program and "unacceptable behavior" in Europe and the Middle East. Tehran has rejected the concerns as "baseless" and "non-constructive."
Poland is rarely an advocate of moves that might help Moscow. But as its farmers suffer from EU sanctions against Russia and fear incoming agribusiness, Putin's anti-sanctions coalition has garnered an unlikely ally.
Germany, France and the UK have set up a payment channel with Iran called INSTEX, to help continue trade and circumvent US sanctions. Washington has cautioned EU nations against such actions.
