Robert Menasse is this year's recipient of the most prestigious German-language literary award. The Austrian author scooped the German Book Prize for his novel "Die Hauptstadt."
One of the most-coveted awards in German literature has gone to the author of Archipel. The novel tells the story of three families on the Canary Island of Tenerife from different social classes in Franco-era Spain.
The jury selected 20 titles from a total of 200 to compete for the most prestigious literary award in German-language publishing. On October 9, the best German-language novel will be revealed at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
