Commemorating the Day of German Unity

The ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of German Unity will be broadcast live from the "Metropolis-Halle" in Potsdam.

The eastern German state of Brandenburg holds the presidency of the "Bundesrat" this year and is therefore hosting the festivities. Keynote speakers will be German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Brandenburg's State Premier Dietmar Woidke. 

30 years ago, hundreds of thousands celebrated German reunification in front of Berlin's Brandenburg Gate. 30 years later, this event will be commemorated with a ceremony at the Potsdam "Metropolis-Halle."
