The first funeral for victims of the mosque shootings is being held for Syrian refugees shot in the attack. A father and son who fled the civil war in Syria for a safer life in New Zealand have been buried in Christchurch.
A Christchurch vigil to reject racism and grieve for 50 Muslims killed last week in local mosques drew 15,000 people. One of the victims injured in the shooting said the vigil showed "that we are all one."
