Here in Germany - a top conservative from Chancellor Angela Merkel's CDU has warned immigrants they must adapt to the German way of life or face "consequences". Roland Koch, premier of the state of Hessen, is focusing on law-and-order themes in a bid to win a third term in a regional vote this month. Violent crime committed by young imnmigrants has become a central campaign issue after two youths viciously attacked a senior citizen in Munich just before Christmas.
