The recently announced laptop ban by the U.S. and the United Kingdom is bad news for business travellers hoping to get work done. Some Airlines have found a solution. Travellers can at least use their laptops until they board the plane.
The Doha-based airline is the fourth to say it has been exempted from the US laptop ban after a tightening of security. Washington had put the restrictions in place to stop such devices being used in terror attacks.
Airlines say the US-led laptop ban is slowly being lifted because of assurances of heightened airport security. The bans were put in place after 'Islamic State' started secreting bombs inside such devices.
Travellers who want to use a laptop on US bound flights originating in the Middle East can rejoice as the Trump administration has completely lifted its controversial ban on carrying large electronics onboard.
US Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said he was considering banning laptop computers on all international flights in and out of the country. Kelly added there were signs of "a real threat."
