The news, for me, starts and ends with people. The more we try to understand each other, the more we can try and understand what’s happening around us.
English, Tamil (when I don’t want people to know what I’m saying) and German (when I really don’t want people to know what I’m saying)
Hoping to better understand the world and the people in it, I completed a degree in international relations in Canada, before studying broadcast journalism. Realizing this journey of learning was never-ending, I pursued it as a career by working as a producer, writer, and reporter in Toronto. Then in 2015, I arrived in Germany to join DW’s team of journalists from around the globe.
"Achamillai, achamillai, acham enbathu illaye..." Bharathiyar.
Translation: There is no such thing as fear.
My personal hero:
What do I strive to be as a journalist?
I always want to know why.
