Recent studies estimate that more than half a billion people play computer games every day. For many, it’s more than an amusing pastime. It’s a way to reinvent themselves, try on new identities, and gain a sense of success and control. Many gamers also appreciate the sense of online community. But when real life takes a back seat, psychologists say addiction may be a danger.
