World in Progress: Bangladesh textile workers

The hazardous working conditions of textile workers in Bangladesh came into the international spotlight in April 2013 when the Rana Plaza building that housed several that garment factories collapsed, killing over 1,100 people. Since then, safety standards in the industry have improved and wages increased. But the aftermath of the catastrophe continues to haunt people.
