What types of training does DW Akademie offer?

DW Akademie offers a wide range of training and further education opportunities: media training for professionals, the International Media Studies Master's program for holders of bachelor's degrees and the DW traineeship for young journalists from around the world.


Media training

DW Akademie offers journalistic and intercultural media training workshops which focus on working professionally with the media. Here, you can learn to understand the subtleties of intercultural communication. Our courses are specifically developed for professionals who work in politics, business and civil society. The trainers at the DW Akademie are internationally experienced media professionals.

International Media Studies (IMS)

We also offer a Master's program in International Media Studies in Bonn. Students from all over the world benefit from the unique combination of research, teaching and media work in cooperation with the University of Bonn, the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and DW Akademie. The four-semester, full-time program covers subjects in media and development cooperation, communication studies, media economics and journalism. The program is aimed at young journalists, communication specialists and media managers. More information on the IMS Master's program can be found here.



DW Akademie trains young journalists in an international, bilingual traineeship. The program is divided into seminars and practical phases at DW's different editorial desks and DW foreign studios, at Deutschlandradio and at an external elective placement.
