The first sportscar with the bull as its emblem, the Lamborghini 350 GT, hit the markets in 1964. And it had a clear mission:

The 350 GT bull was designed to gore the Ferrari horse. The story is one of the best-known in automotive history: Ferruccio Lamborghini owned a successful tractor factory. His private car was a Ferrari 250 GT, but he wasn't entirely satisfied with it. And he told its maker, Enzo Ferrari. But Ferrari told Lamborghini to stick to his tractors. That made Lamborghini angry, and he soon unveiled his own super-sportscar, the 350 GT.
