American high school students across the country plan to stage a walkout in honor of the 17 victims killed in the Florida school shooting and to pressure lawmakers to reform gun laws.
Pupils from a US school that experienced a mass shooting in February have started a bus tour to promote tougher gun control laws. The two-month trip is aimed at registering young voters who will support such measures.
Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty for Nikolas Cruz, the former student charged with killing 17 people at a Florida high school last month. Defense lawyers say he'll only plead guilty if his life is spared.
