A community in the US state of Florida is in mourning after a gunman killed 17 people in a school shooting. The suspect is a 19-year-old former student of the high school north of Miami.
The suspect has been identified as a 17-year-old male student from the school. US President Donald Trump has expressed "sadness and heartbreak" over the incident.
US President Trump has told survivors and relatives of the Florida school shooting that he will consider arming teachers. He also pledged to introduce mental health and age checks for gun buyers.
Police in Florida have arrested a man at the Trump National Doral Golf Club, after he was reported to have opened fire in the lobby. Witnesses said the suspect had been shouting anti-Trump rhetoric.
Officer Scott Peterson waited four minutes outside the high school building after the shooting started. Seventeen people were killed in the six-minute ordeal at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14.
