Tobias Heine's fact sheet

Tobias Heine September 20, 2015

The screwdriver is his best friend, but Tobias is so much more than a mechanic. When he starts fiddling around under the hood of a car or a truck he turns engines into works of art.

I'm proud of having achieved all my goals.

What are you ashamed of?
That will remain my secret.

Tell us about an image that will never be erased from your memory.
I worked on a site once where there was this narrow staircase in a house that had completely burned down. All these firemen would have had to rush up and down that staircase to put out the fire and secure the site. On that staircase, there still was a pile of freshly done laundry belonging to the owners of the house. It was practically untouched. They could all have easily pushed that pile of laundry out of their way to do their jobs, but everyone there had taken great care to not cause any more damage than had been done already. That little heap of laundry epitomizes the kind of respect that I think we should have for all our fellow humans. And it also proves just how quickly life can change.

If you could choose one person to meet, dead or still alive, who would this be and why?
That's a tough one.

What would have happened if the Berlin Wall had never come down?
I think that I would still be me if this was still East Germany. But my "packaging" might look a little different.
