The Copernicus Program

On April 3rd, a Russian Soyuz rocket will take off from the European Space Agency launch pad in French Guyana carrying Sentinel 1, the first in a series of next-generation observation satellites.

One of six that are planned in total, the eye in the sky will deliver data on the Earth’s surface that will benefit researchers in many geoscientific areas. Tomorrow Today looks at what the satellite can do.
