The Fight against Human Trafficking
August 3, 2015Ildiko from Hungary is a victim of brutal and unscrupulous human trafficking. A mother of three, she was lured to Germany under false pretences and forced to work as a prostitute in a brothel. She didn’t speak German, didn’t know where she was and had no one to confide in. She was guarded 24 hours a day and had to serve men in the brothel from 10am until 2am, paying 135 euros a day for her room. If she ever fell into arrears, she was just forced to work more. Escape was never an option because the traffickers threatened Ildiko and her family.
This documentary uncovers the truth about the current situation in Germany and Romania. Therapists talk about the deep psychological damage inflicted upon women imprisoned in forced prostitution and former victims describe what they went through. And inmates from the notorious Jilava prison just outside Bucharest speak openly about their business as human traffickers.
