No human being has set foot on the Moon since 1972. A manned mission back is long overdue. Powerful new technology and thirty-five years of experience with space missions have made the journey both more realistic and less dangerous. There are even plans to build a manned lunar outpost. After all, the moon would make a great place from which to launch missions to other planets. And when it comes to resources, there's a lot more buried under the Moon's dusty surface than you might think.
