Hackers have accessed confidential documents about nuclear plants and prisons in a cyberattack on a French firm, media reported. Some of the data was found on a rented server in Germany, according to the reports.
Hackers accessed data from 29 million Facebook accounts as part of the security breach the social media giant disclosed two weeks ago. Facebook originally thought more than 50 million accounts had been affected.
Hong Kong carrier Cathay Pacific is the latest company to come under pressure to communicate the scope of a data breach following an attack by hackers. The current decade has seen a surge of major data leakages.
Thousands of workers' personal data were reportedly compromised. A US government report earlier in the week criticized the defense department for lackluster progress in securing major weapons systems from cyberattacks.
