Police Probe Gruesome Murder and Mutilation Case

Police in Berlin have issued an arrest warrant against a 41-year-old man for killing and partially dismembering his male sex partner. The man admitted to police on Tuesday that he stabbed the 33-year-old victim, a teacher, with a screwdriver during a sadomasochistic sex session. Police found the torso of the dead teacher at the man's apartment in Berlin's Neukölln neighborhood after he led them there. The man had separated the arms and legs from the body and had removed the innards. According to the police, the man had gotten to know his victim in a homosexual Internet chat room. Though investigators say the man could have entertained cannibalistic fantasies, officials say there are no indications that he actually ate his victim's flesh. Authorities have pointed to limited parallels to the sensational cannibal case in Rotenburg, in which 41-year-old Armin Meiwes killed a 42-year-old Berlin engineer who he met over the Internet and then ate his body parts.
