Längere Laufzeiten - Bundesregierung verteidigt Atomkompromiss

Germany's coalition government has decided to extend the operating life of Germany's nuclear power plants. After marathon talks, the cabinet announced some nuclear plants will run till the 20-30s. In return it is calling on nuclear power companies to contribute to developing renewable energy. Environmentalists and the opposition are strongly opposed to extending the life of nuclear power plants which were due to be phased out by 2022.
