Inside Europe: The exodus from southern Italy

Over the past 15 years, 2 million southern Italians have left to find a job or a future elsewhere. Mass migration from the south dates back to the unification of Italy in 1861 and reached its peak in the 1950s and '60s. Back then it was blue-collar workers that left. These days, it's highly educated youngsters. Angelo van Schaik has been finding out more.
