Spanish flag carrier Iberia wants to sack 3,800 staff to cut costs. They have reacted with a strike, causing the airline to cancel 1,300 flights this week.
Ryanair cabin crew protests across Europe have caused 600 flights to be cancelled with 100,000 passengers affected. The strikes come as more than 300 Ryanair staff in Ireland are warned they may lose their jobs.
Alitalia has said it will face extensive strike action in April. The cash-strapped airline will see protests against a series of slated savings measures involving thousands of job cuts and hefty wage reductions.

The Venezuelan government blames Banesco executives for exacerbating the country's hyperinflation and collapse of the national currency. Banesco's chief denounced the move as "disproportionate" and "unjust."
