German Industrial Output Increases

The German industry and mining output increased in June with fewer workers than June 2003, the Federal Statistics Office announced Monday. Total output went up to €125.4 million ($154.8 million), an increase of 14.9 percent. Production for export increased a massive 23.6 percent while the domestic output growth came in at 9.5 percent. Hours worked in June also increased 5.3 percent to a total of 785.9 despite the fact that the branch employed 120,800, or about 2 percent, fewer people than June last year.
