So far, 195 prominent guests from 61 nations have answered the questions on Conflict Zone, including numerous current and former heads of state and government, foreign ministers, EU commissioners, current or former secretaries general, directors and presidents of international institutions such as NATO, the United Nations, the OSCE, Human Rights Watch, the International Criminal Court, Europol, the CIA and the FBI.

DW Director General Peter Limbourg: "With Conflict Zone, DW has successfully established an outstanding interview format for our international audience. Top politicians and experts are aware of the unconventional, confrontational nature of the questions, but they take up the challenge because they know that their statements are broadcast worldwide."

Conflict Zone presents interviews on politically and socially explosive topics such as human rights violations, migration, corruption and extremism. The responses of the guests, often representatives of authoritarian states, have repeatedly made international headlines and triggered heated discussions on social media.

Sometimes several million views of the program confirm its relevance. "The high level of attention that many issues generate, especially in the regions of origin of the interviewees, echoes the investigative preparation and excellent moderation of the program," said Limbourg.
