E.ON Faces New Takeover Problems
The huge German utility E.ON ran into fresh problems on Monday in its bid to take over the natural gas provider Ruhrgas. The problem was created by a competing company, natGas, which asked a court in Düsseldorf on Monday to stop the deal. The injunction was filed three days after E.ON reached a settlement with nine competitors who had sought an injunction against the company’s planned €10 billion ($10.8 billion) takeover of Ruhrgas. E.ON is based in Düsseldorf.
