Media experts from eight different African countries and Europe discussed the future of mobile media. Organized by DW Akademie's Namibia office, the first pan-African conference on mobile media was held in Windhoek. Josaphat Vijanda Tjiho from Namibia found the talks "successful and inspiring."

During the three-day conference, media workers, media experts, journalists and programmers discussed the use of mobile technology in media and for social development in Africa.
Now on air: Kunene Community Radio
Kunene Community Radio was launched on November 1, 2017. Conference participants attended the launch event. "We thank the entire DW Akademie team for helping make our dream come true," said station manager Tijzumaue Undari at the opening ceremony.
Grand Finale
The conference design provided a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge, opportunities for interaction among participants and lively debates. Above all, it was a place to experiment and try out something new.
