"We will broadcast at 5.30 p.m. Istanbul time and thus have a good chance of reaching many users in Turkey on their mobile devices," says Erkan Arikan, head of DW's Turkish service. "Many people will be on their way home from work, and our offer will provide them with information on the most important topics of the day."

The success of the new Turkish-language YouTube channel +90, produced jointly by DW and the international foreign broadcasters BBC, VOA and France24, which already has more than 100,000 subscribers three months after its start, "speaks for the great need of the Turkish public for credible information," says DW Director General Peter Limbourg. "Despite the recent attempts to discredit foreign media, the number of users in Turkey who consciously choose us as an alternative is increasing."

DW Haber will also be available on the Internet after its live broadcast on the social media channels.
