Conference of Donors for the State of Palestine in Paris - je 17.12.2007 08

Delegates from around the world are meeting in Paris today to agree on a multi-billion Euro aid package for the Palestinian government. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is hoping the donor conference will bring in almost 4 Bbillion Euros over the next three years for his budget and for economic development in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. In addition to ongoing Israeli restrictions, Abbas is also locked in a power struggle with Hamas Islamists, who control the Gaza Strip.
