Chaos in Pakistan - je 28.12.2007 08 UTC

Kay HagedornDecember 28, 2007

Indeed Bhutto's assassination has plunged Pakistan into one of the worst crises in its 60-year history. The death of President Pervez Musharraf's most powerful opponent just 12 days before elections is seen as a serious threat to the democratic process. The other opposition leader, Nawaz Sharif, has promised to boycott the elections, and says President Musharraf's policies are to blame for Bhutto's murder. Musharraf is pointing the finger at islamic extremists who have launched more than 50 suicide attacks across the country this year alone.
