Chale Wote street art festival captivates Accra
The sixth Chale Wote street art festival hosted more than 200 Ghana-based and international artists. The week-long festival took place in the Jamestown district of Accra and boasted huge crowds.
Art and humanity
According to the organizers, the theme for this year's festival, "Spirit Robot," embraces a power rooted in humanity. It refers to the energetic ability of festival participants to create a new encounter with reality that is entirely of their choosing and construction.
Living art
A group of artists painted a canvas live in front of an impressed and excited crowd. The event kicked off on August 15 with an open Gallery. It was a collaboration with six Accra galleries and exhibitions showing the vibrant textures of contemporary Ghanaian art.
