Serbia's pro-western incumbent president Boris Tadic has won re-election, narrowly beating the ultra-nationalist candidate Tomislav Nikolic. The state electoral commission said Tadic won by about 51 percent, compared to 47.8 percent for his rival. In his victory speech, Tadic commended the vote by saying Serbia had demonstrated it's great democratic potential.
