German tennis icon Boris Becker, currently serving a suspended two-year jail term for tax evasion, will be leaving Germany for the tax haven of Switzerland, the star’s spokesman said on Wednesday. After fouling out in his home country, 35-year-old Becker, who retired from professional tennis in 1999 and has since been plagued by a string of failed business ventures and prosecution for unpaid bills, will be moving to the tiny Swiss canton of Zug, claimed to have one of the lowest tax rates in the world. "I am looking forward to my life in Switzerland, but of course I remain faithful to Germany," Becker was quoted as saying. The tennis legend, who has been living in a luxury suite in a Munich hotel for the past year since divorcing wife Barbara and selling his city villa, will join fellow German sporting personalities Michael Schumacher and Jan Ulrich, in setting up residence in Switzerland.
