Blood cancer: the miracle of stem cell transplants

The best Christmas gift of all is perhaps the gift of life. About 100 people in Germany are diagnosed with blood cancer every day. Often their only chance of survival is getting a stem cell transplant from a donor who happens to share the same tissue type as them. Since there are millions of human tissue types, finding the right match is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Diana Fong reports.
