The fourth largest island in the world takes part in the Africa Cup for the first time. This is the result of a boom Madagascar's football has taken since Frenchman Nicolas Dupuis became national coach.
Despite having Sadio Mane and Kalidou Koulibaly, Senegal weren't able to overcome Algeria. Madagascar's sheer presence at the tournament is remarkable, but being here it isn't enough for Nicolas Dupuis' side.
Madagascar have been the pleasant surprise package of this Africa Cup of Nations. Having cruised into the round of 16, they are now set to face a team that finished third in the group stage.

Host nation Egypt made it three wins out of three in Group A, beating Uganda who finised as group runners up. Elsewhere, Madagascar caused the biggest upset of the tournament so far by beating Nigeria to top Group B
