Light Calligrapher Julien Breton

Fabian ChristDecember 18, 2011

The French artist Julien Breton, also known as Kaalam, started calligraphy in 2001 by copying Arabic masters. Self-taught, he then started using light calligraphy which becomes a spell-binding show with its combination of calligraphy and choreography. Breton's work is inspired by Arabic calligraphy, but since he doesn't speak Arabic himself, he invented a script based on the Latin alphabet.
