Andrea Warnecke is a senior researcher at Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC). She studied history, English and media studies at the Universities of Bochum and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. In her present work, she focuses on forced migration and displacement and on the formation of transnational diaspora networks. She has recently concluded a research project on the interventions of diaspora organizations from the Horn of Africa in peacebuilding processes in their countries of origin. Her current research areas include refugee protection and regional organizations in SSA as well as migration governance in Central Asia.
