This is how it works

Please read the instructions and terms of conditions carefully before submitting your photos. Don`t worry, handling is easy! There are also prizes to be won.

1. Choose a photo(s)
Select up to three of your photos that you personally feel have a connection to education and culture. Please send us the originals, so that we will be able to publish, exhibit or print them as posters, postcards or in a catalog. Ideally, each photo will be high-resolution with at least 300 dpi and 1024x576 pixel. We will unfortunately have to reject photos that don’t match our requirements for resolution.

2. Don’t forget the description

This should include the following information:

  • A description of the photographed scene in English (140 characters max.)
  • The scene’s location – if possible, with coordinates for placing it on our online photo atlas
  • Date the photo was taken
  • Photographer’s name
  • Photographer’s country of origin and place of residence

3. Upload photos or send them via e-mail
You can use our online tool to upload your photo(s) and information. You will just have to fill in all of the required fields and attach your photo(s) (max. three).

You can also send your photo(s) and description via e-mail to:

klick@dw.de

The Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum team will then post the photos and descriptions online. The corresponding map with the photos and their locations will be integrated into the Global Media Forum website at www.dw-gmf.de.

The editorial staff from the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum will decide which photos will be published. No claims can be made for unpublished photos. Please be aware that by uploading/sending your e-mail, you guarantee that you own the rights to, and are allowing for the unlimited usage and publication of, the submitted photo for the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum. Please ensure that you have the right to publish the images of the person(s) that are featured on your photo(s). The Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum team reserves the right to exclude images from the competition that do not comply with these rules regarding rights.
