Marilyn M. Manila is director of the international group of CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI) based in the Philippines. CARD MRI is a world-class leader in microfinance and community-based social development undertakings to improve the quality of life of socially and economically challenged women and families towards nation-building.
Manila holds a diploma in development communication (major in educational communication) from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and a Master's degree in entrepreneurship (major in social development) from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Makati, Philippines. She started her professional career with the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD) in 2000 as executive assistant to the chairman. She has held her current position at CARD MRI since 2009 and in August 2011, she was appointed treasurer of the Board of Trustees of the CARD MRI OFW Foundation based in Hong Kong.
