Statement for the DW campaign “We are Germany”
During my childhood, my parents and the neighborhood, which had a high mix of foreigners, showed me the meaning of tolerance and how important it is for our country. Despite all the differences, humor was the common link across nationalities and language barriers. Laughing together connects people and makes us forget prejudices. That's the attitude I live by.
