Deebi, Prof. Aissa

Aissa Deebi is Assistant Professor of Art and Design at The American University in Cairo, Egypt.

Currently he’s developing a Cultural Practices Program with new curriculum in Visual Art, Graphic Design and Film. As Director of the program and the Sharjah Art Gallery, he manages the art and design faculty and chairs the Art Gallery Search Committee. In addition, he teaches courses in art and design including Photography after Post-Modernism / Sculpture and Installation / Graphic Design / Senior Project / Exhibition and Art Theory.

His Dissertation Who I am, where I am, where I come from and where I am going develops a critical examination of the Arab Diaspora culture as creative space in the field of the visual arts.
