In 2006, DW Akademie was the winner of an international competition to hold a series of seminars for Lithuania's state broadcaster. The project was financed by the European Union.
In 10 practically-oriented seminars, DW Akademie trained journalists, technicians and editors of Lithuania's radio and television state broadcaster Lietuvos Radijas ir Televizija (LRT) until July 2007.
Journalists with more than 30 years experience joined young journalists who were just starting out to learn journalistic and technical standards which could be applied to future programs. LRT's managing director Kestutis Petrauskis said he was glad DW Akademie had been awarded the series of seminars.
The project will be continued in the summer of 2008.
