Senior Trade Policy Advisor to the Director of the International Trade Division, Secretariat of the UN Conference on Trade and Development, Geneva, Switzerland
Ulrich Hoffmann is the senior trade policy advisor to the Director of the International Trade Division of the secretariat of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva. He is the lead editor of UNCTAD's regular Trade and Environment Review and the coordinator of the UN Forum on Sustainability Standards (UNFSS). He has published widely, more recently in particular on the interrelationship between globalization and climate change as well as food security. Hoffmann studied economics and received his Ph.D. and an advanced doctoral degree (habilitation) from the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
