Dr. Ronald Meinardus is Regional Director Middle East and North Africa with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) since 2007 and based in Cairo. After studying political science in Hamburg and Athens he began his professional career as a journalist. Between 1985 and 1995 Ronald Meinardus held different positions at Deutsche Welle. In 1996 he joined FNF to serve as resident representative first in Korea and from 2002 until 2007 in the Philippines.
Dr. Meinardus has published widely on current political affairs in academic journals and newspapers. His publications deal with developments in Germany, the Balkans, Southern Africa, East Asia and matters related to liberalism and democracy.
