Arap dünyasının çağdaş kadın sanatçıları
Arap ülkelerinden kadın sanatçılar, Almanya’nın Marta Herford Müzesi’ndeki ortak sergide bir araya geldi. Mekân ve vücut ilişkisinin öne çıktığı serginin adı "Ara Bölgeler".
Gelenekleri kırmak
Bu, aynı zamanda alışılagelmiş görüntüleri zorlamak anlamına da geliyor… Bielefeld yakınlarındaki Marta Herford Müzesi’ndeki sergi, Ortadoğu ve Kuzey Afrika’dan uluslararası alanda isim yapmış dokuz kadın sanatçının eserlerini bir araya getiriyor. Eserler, Batı ile Doğu arasındaki toplumsal-kültürel çatışma bölgelerine ayna tutuyor. Serginin odak noktasını ise mekân ve vücut ilişkisi oluşturuyor.
Arwa Arbouon: Aile hikâyesi
Libyalı multimedya sanatçısı Arwa Arbouon geleneksel rollerin resmini değiştiriyor ve bunun için çok kişisel bir konu seçiyor: Sanatçının iki fotoğraftan oluşan "Özür Dilerim / Affediyorum" adlı çalışması, anne ve babasının fotoğraflarından oluşuyor. Sanatçı, fotoğraflarda farklı cinsiyetler arasındaki güç dengesini ters çeviriyor.
Lamia Joreige: Savaştan parçalar
Lübnanlı sanatçı bireysel hikâyeler ile kolektif tarihin ilişkisini araştırıyor. 2002 yılında başlayan "Savaş Nesneleri" adlı proje dizisi Lübnan İç Savaşı’nın görsel temsiline imkân sunuyor. Marta Herford Müzesi’nde ayrıca 1972 doğumlu Joreige’in 2006 yılındaki Lübnan Savaşı sırasında yaşadığı bireysel hikayesi olan "Gece ve Gündüz" adlı belgesel filmden kareler de sergileniyor.
Sama Alshaibi: Çöl hikâyeleri
Sanatçı, Arapça’da "bağlantı" anlamına gelen "Silsala" adlı projesinde 14’üncü yüzyılda Fas’ta yaşayan ve Orta Çağ’ın en büyük seyyahı olarak bilinen İbn-i Batuta’dan esinlenmiş. Sanatçının projesi, 7 yıl boyunca Ortadoğu ve Kuzey Afrika’nın farklı çöl bölgeleri ve su kaynaklarına seyahatleri esnasında ortaya çıkmış. Alshaibi projesine ilişkin "Çöl modern toplum için ilginç bir metafor" diyor.
Saba Innab: Tanınmayan devlet Filistin
Ürdünlü mimar ve sanatçı Saba Innab, şiirsel bir estetik ile hazırladığı çizim ve enstalasyonları ile Filistinlilerin karmaşık politik durumlarına ayna tutuyor. Innab, sergi salonunu ikiye bölen duvardaki zarif çalışması ile dünyada birçok ülke tarafından devlet olarak tanınmayan Filistin’in Ürdün, Suriye, Lübnan ve Mısır’a olan sınırlarını yansıtıyor
Moufida Fedhila: Alternatif bir bakış sunmak
Tunuslu sanatçı "Hors-je" (Benim dışımda) adlı kısa metrajlı filminde Cité Ettadhamen semtindeki çocuklarla çalışıyor. Fedhila projesine ilişkin "Burası radikalleşip Suriye’ye giderek IŞİD’e katılanların yoğun olduğu ve suç oranı yüksek bir semt. Alternatif bir bakış açısı sunmaya çalışıyorum. Amaç demokratik bir katılım. Çünkü ben sanatın dönüştürücü gücü olduğuna inanıyorum" diye konuşuyor.
Mounira Al Solh: Mizah ve çift anlam
Lübnanlı sanatçı Mounira Al Solh çağdaş sanatın küresel çaptaki en önemli adreslerinden Almanya’nın Kassel ve bu yıl ilk kez Yunanistan’ın başkenti Atina’da düzenlenen Documenta’da da çok yönlü eserleri ile yer aldı. Hollanda’da yaşayan sanatçı 2015 yılında Venedik Bienali’ne de katılmıştı. Sanatçı mizah içeren video, video enstalâsyonları, resim, nakış ve performansları ile tanınıyor.
