Rusia pierde tres satélites en fallido lanzamiento de cohete

Se estima que el siniestro ha causado pérdidas de 200 millones de dólares (unos 153 millones de euros). El cohete explotó en el aire sobre el complejo de lanzamiento del centro espacial, situado en la estepa kazaja, como se puede apreciar en una transmisión del despegue en Internet. Al parecer, el accidente no causó muertos o heridos. La instalación de lanzamiento se mantuvo intacta.
Sin embargo, varios edificios en Baikonur fueron evacuados debido al escape del combustible tóxico. La mayor parte del heptil se quemó por la explosión, informaron las autoridades kazajas en Astaná, la capital de la ex república soviética.
El ministro de Protección Civil de Kazajistán, Vladimir Boshko, admitió, sin embargo, que existía el peligro de que la nube tóxica de heptil se expandiese por la región, informó la agencia de noticias Interfax. En 2010, durante otro fallido despegue de un cohete portador, Rusia también había perdido tres satélites para Glonass.
