Geologists in Afghanistan suggest the country is sitting on a gold mine of raw materials. US advisers estimate the value of raw materials and precious metals to be nearly 1- Trillion Dollars. If true, the revenue from mining could help Afghan communities shift away from the dominance of heroin production.
